Business Assocations & Charitable Organizations

At Northridge Skateland we recognize our duty to take an active role in our community by continuously finding ways to assist members and organizations within the community to achieve their goals. We feel by being good business partners we assist in strengthening the economic vitality of the San Fernando Valley.

We are proud of our alliances with the following fine organizations:

ThinkCure!

Skateland is proud to annouce its sponsorship and partnership with ThinkCure! the official charity of the Los Angeles Dodgers.  In 2008, Skateland has committed to a yearlong fundraising effort to benefit ThinkCure!.  Skateland owners Dave and Mike Fleming donated all admission fees collected at Skateland's 50th Anniversary party held on January 30, 2008 to ThinkCure! and will donate 25 cents from every skating admission during the year as well.  In addition, the Flemings made a $5000 contribution to kick off the campaign.  Please join us in supporting this great organization!

Give Kids The World
Skateland has been a supporter of GKTW since 1995. Skateland hosts families for a day of roller skating and lunch. The families are special – they have children who are battling life-threatening illnesses.

GLAD - Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness

In early 2006, Skateland's Director of Finance, Vickie Bourdas joined GLAD as a boardmember.  She meets with the board monthly to address issues that face the deaf and hard of hearing community and to brainstorm ways to further their mission of ensuring equal access of the deaf and hard of hearing community to the same opportunities afforded their hearing counterparts.

LAPD Devonshire PALS (Police Activity League Supporters)

Skateland designated PALS as the recipient of the proceeds from its August 2005 Chamber Mixer raffle netting nearly $3000 for the organization dedicated to providing positive alternatives for our neighborhood's children. Longtime Skateland Manager, Vickie Bourdas, also sits on the PALS Board of Directors and holds the position of Secretary for 2008.  Visit PALS at www.devonshire-pals.org

Los Angeles Police Memorial Fund
Skateland has been a supporter of the Annual Los Angeles Police-Celebrity Golf Tournament for many years. Mike and Dave Fleming feel supporting our police department is vital to the safety and well being of our community. Both were also reserve officers for the LAPD at Devonshire Division.
